CIVILSERVICE COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
March 29, 2022
Chair Dennis Cowan called the meeting to order at 2:03 p.m. in the presence of Commissioner Ken
Przygocki, Commissioner Bob Gebo and Chief Examiner Steve Richmond.Jefferson County Human
Resources Director, Sarah Melancon was also present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Commissioner Przygocki moved to approve the minutes of February 22, 2022. Commissioner Cowan
seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
OLD BUSINESS: nothing discussed
NEW BUSINESS:
• Update and Review of Records Officer Examination and Results: Chair Cowan made a motion
to adopt the updated job description/qualifications for Records Officer as rewritten by Sheriff's Office
Confidential Secretary Kari Binns and Human Recourses Director Sarah Melancon with the assistance of
Chief Examiner Steve Richmond. Commissioners Gebo seconded which carried by a unanimous vote.
• Update on Sargent Positions and Scheduling a Promotional Examination: Commissioner
Gebo and Chief Examiner Richmond gave an update on testing for Sergeant Promotions and additional
ways for advertising for Entry Level were discussed.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT:
Chair Cowan moved to adjourn the meeting at 2:20 p.m. Commissioner Gebo seconded the motion
which carried by a unanimous vote.
NEXT MEETING:
April 26, 2022 or a Special Meeting if properly noticed pursuant to RCW 42.30.080.
