CIVILSERVICE COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
February 22, 2022
Chair Dennis Cowan called the meeting to order at 2:02 p.m. in the presence of Commissioner Ken
Przygocki, Commissioner Bob Gebo and Chief Examiner Steve Richmond. Sarah Melancon was also
present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Commissioner Przygocki moved to approve the minutes of January 25, 2022. Commissioner Cowan
seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
OLD BUSINESS:
UPDATE re: Review January decision to allow electronic devices at testing
Chief Examiner Richmond gave an update regarding the Administrative Clerk/Records Officer
Examination and adopting the use of electronic devices at the testing.The Board agreed to have Chief
Examiner Richmond rewrite the entry examination.The Board agreed to have the examination
rewritten and not allow electronic devices.All agreed with the rewritten Examination, Secretary
Shannon will advertise March 9 and March i6, 2022 with a closing date of March 21, 2022. The
Examination date will be set for Saturday, March 26, 2022 at i:oopm in the Sheriff's Office Conference
Room.
NEW BUSINESS:
Review and adopt updated job description/qualifications for Records Officer
Chair Cowan made a motion to adopt the updated job description/qualifications for Records Officer as
rewritten by Sheriff's Office Confidential Secretary Kari Binns and Human Recourses Director Sarah
Melancon with the assistance of Chief Examiner Steve Richmond. Commissioners Gebo seconded
which carried by a unanimous vote.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT:
Chair Cowan moved to adjourn the meeting at 2:27 p.m. Commissioner Gebo seconded the motion
which carried by a unanimous vote.
NEXT MEETING:
March 29, 2022 or a Special Meeting if properly noticed pursuant to RCW 42.30.080.
