HomeMy WebLinkAbout102722 FW_ Getting closer to an explanation of the discrepancy between the DNR map and list ________________________________ From: Jessica Randall Sent: Thursday, October 27, 2022 6:34:10 PM (UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada) To: Heidi Eisenhour; Greg Brotherton; Kate Dean Subject: Getting closer to an explanation of the discrepancy between the DNR map and list ________________________________ ALERT: BE CAUTIOUS This email originated outside the organization. Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. ________________________________ One step forward... There is a large difference between the kml map's "operable acres" and those on the list that Csenka gave us in regard to the Phase II Carbon Project. This is one step toward explaining that discrepancy. Are there more steps? It seems like there must be. And hopefully DNR will clear it up. I received this email from Brel (CRF) on 10/25: Hi, So this clears it up. The acreage difference is that there is acreage in the boundaries that are inoperable. I’m requesting data so we can get the boundaries of what the operable acreage is so we can see what was already under protection and what wasn’t. ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: DNR RE Public Disclosure <publicdisclosure@dnr.wa.gov <mailto:publicdisclosure@dnr.wa.gov> > Date: Tue, Oct 25, 2022 at 3:38 PM Subject: RE: PDR 6778 To: Brel Froebe <brel@c4rf.org <mailto:brel@c4rf.org> > Good afternoon, The difference is between the polygon acreage and the acreage of even-age-operable areas within the polygon. E.g., with the example of Upper Rutsatz, the total area under consideration is 260 acres (You may have come up with 263 acres, which may be due to generalizations in the conversion to kml and/or to the method of acreage calculation), but the area of potential new conservation (i.e., lands that aren’t already deferred from even-age harvest for some other reason) would be 163 acres, out of the total 260 acres.
