This comes as the FBI issued a warning in October that threats to election workers could be tied to the midterms. The new law went into effect in June, and since then, the Jefferson County Prosecutor’s Office said it's reviewing a case of an election worker who reported receiving threatening emails. The project was divided into two bid options because no bid was accepted in the initial solicitation. The first batch of bids was significantly higher than the engineer's estimate and approved project budget due to supply chain issues during the pandemic. This process, known as the Broadband Data Collection (BDC) process, will be instrumental in the distribution of more than $40 billion in federal broadband grants to states beginning in 2023. In an effort to support counties as they prepare for a historic influx in broadband infrastructure funding, NACo is publishing key pointers and an accompanying resource hub to assist counties in the effort to close the digital divide in communities across the country. Network members will participate in virtual convenings and travel to one another’s communities to explore abatement strategies across the continuum of care and share ideas for replicating and scaling these strategies in their respective communities. County officials involved in making decisions about opioid settlement spending – including county elected officials and members of county decision-making bodies – are invited to apply. Officials who leave office this year may be unaware that they need to file a final F-1 for the portion of the year they remained in office. They must file a final report by April 17, 2023.
