Subject: Change Order No. 4, JUMP! Project at HJ Carroll County Park,
Chimacum, WA.
Statement of Issue: Authorization of Change Order No. 4 to the contract with Interwest
Construction Inc. (ICI) for the construction of the JUMP! Project; a new all-inclusive
playground at HJ Carroll County Park.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's £t Con's: Change Order No. 4 provides for subgrade re-
grading due to the repositioning of a piece of play equipment to meet fall zone
requirements, and installation of two cleat benches.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: These change orders will increase the contract
amount by $711.14, from $770,125.27 to $770,836.41. Construction is funded through
a combination of a $500,000 RCO Grant, a Jefferson County Capital Improvement Fund
contribution of $550,000, and other grants, pledges and cash donations.
Recommendation: Public Works recommends that the Board execute three Change
Order No. 4 documents with ICI and return two (2) to Public Works for further
processing.
