COUNTIES PLAY A KEY ROLE IN SUPPORTING VETERANS
Counties fund County Veteran Service Officers (CVSOs), who help veterans navigate the federal benefits system. CVSOs help veterans claim more than $52 billion in federal VA benefits
each year, including health care, disability, pension, compensation and transition assistance programs.
CVSOs in 29 states and the District of Columbia are responsible for helping veterans access federal benefits
