Nov. 15 - Dec. 15 Farm at Water's Edge SeedMoney Fundraiser HCSEG’s Farm at Water’s Edge (FAWE) is raising funds for new raised garden beds that will expand our U-Pick garden and provide more accessible picking and gardening options for those with limited mobility. FAWE improves food access in our community while educating about nutrition and the ways sustainable farming practices mitigate negative human impacts on salmon. The farm is WSDA-Certified Organic, Salmon Safe Certified and Real Organic Project Certified. At HCSEG’s Farm at Water’s Edge (FAWE) we offer youth programs focused on ecosystems, sustainable agriculture, and nutrition including field trips, classes, and summer camps. The farm is open for tours and for individuals and families to participate in outdoor volunteer and educational experiences. The farm also improves food access in Mason County through our U-Pick garden. Our motto, “Pick What You Need, Pay What You Can,” describes our method: we offer fresh produce by donation, making food accessible to individuals of all social and economic backgrounds. During the growing season, the U-Pick garden is open 7 days a week from dawn to dusk. The farm also features twenty P-Patch beds leased at a low cost to individuals and families. A donation of $5 also allows you to enter the fundraiser raffle! After donating, simply email heather@pnwsalmoncenter.org with the name you used to donate and the amount donated. Prize: Farm at Water's Edge tote bag, tour of the farm with the Farm Manager and a basket of produce in summer 2023. Winner will be announced after Dec. 15th.
