Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. ________________________________ Hello, The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is announcing the availability of the draft recovery plan for Taylor’s checkerspot butterfly (Euphydryas editha taylori) and the opening of a 60-day window of opportunity for public review and comment. Working with our partners, the Service uses a range of conservation tools to recover threatened and endangered species. Recovery plans are one such tool, providing a roadmap for recovery of listed species in coordination with public and private partners. This draft recovery plan promotes working to protect the existing populations of this endangered insect found in prairies and balds of the Pacific Northwest and future collaboration towards species recovery. A recovery plan provides guidance on how best to help listed species achieve recovery and is not a regulatory document. The draft recovery plan is now available online <https://www.fws.gov/story/2022-11/service-seeks-public-comment-draft-recovery-plan-taylors-checkerspot-butterfly> . To ensure consideration for inclusion in the final recovery plan, we must receive written comments on or before January 17, 2023. However, we will also accept information at any time, for possible future revisions of the plan. Please submit your comments on the draft document in writing by any one of the following methods: * U.S. mail: Rose Agbalog, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, 500 Desmond Dr. SE, Lacey, Washington 98503 * Email: WFWO_LR@fws.gov <mailto:WFWO_LR@fws.gov> .
