Dear County Commissioners:
Csenka advised that the carbon credit payments to counties would be proportional to the acreage they have in the program. Thus, she said that the best way to estimate carbon payment
to Jefferson County at this point is to use DNR’s completed initial carbon analysis for the project as a whole and calculate Jefferson County’s share with various assumptions for carbon
price and escalation over the 40 years. Please see attached. Keep in mind this is a work in progress as we learn more about the program. Thanks
