All seven puppies showed signs of illness and tested positive for Canine Parvo Virus. Parvo Virus is a highly contagious dog virus that vaccines protect against. It causes severe gastrointestinal distress and many times death if not treated promptly and aggressively. Even with aggressive medical care some dogs will die from this horrible virus. <https://dim.mcusercontent.com/cs/82d26e535706daece34fbf7a3/images/0f355c11-83b5-e36d-f5c4-ac470912e341.jpg?w=270&dpr=2> Center Valley Animal Rescue was able to help Tacoma Humane Society by taking in the three sickest puppies. One of the LVT's at Tacoma rushed them over to us so we could start IV fluids and plasma transfusions on the three. After 24 hours of treatments one is doing much better, one is slightly improved although still critical, and the third has unfortunately succumbed. We will begin with an opening ceremony performed by Troop 1480’s colorguard. Connor and some of the donors will then say a few words about the project followed by a ribbon cutting. Finally, we will walk the trail to the picnic area where we will enjoy some light refreshments.
