Dear County Commissioners: Greg, Heidi, and Kate,
I recently experienced the complete clear cutting of a couple of City lots about 4 houses down the street from where I live. It was heart breaking to have all these huge Douglas firs
cut to make room for 2 houses. I find the cutting of such amazing trees quite distressing in this time of such obvious climate change. As upsetting as this was to me, I do understand
the importance of filling in empty lots with housing when our housing crisis is so critical. It was hard to witness, nonetheless.
That said, the potential loss of the Quimper Lost Wilderness is a whole different deal. IT needs to be preserved! Please do all you can to protect the trees there - old growth trees,
from a similar fate. We are living in an era of HARD choices. Climate change is
in our face! This choice does not seem confusing, or hard. Please protect the Quimper Lost Wilderness along with a surrounding buffer zone in to perpetuity!
