Dear County Commissioners, please reallocate the resources necessary to permanently mitigate the cave in situations on Shine Rd. before there is a serious accident.
Hwy 104 / Paradise and Shine roads, WSDOT construction is scheduled for this spring. SR 104 East bound traffic, is encouraged by google maps that reports Shine Rd. as an alternative
route. Drivers trying to avoid backups, will increase traffic onto the failing Shine road.
The condition on Shine Rd. is getting worse. Continuous road cave failures have existed for over 2 years.
Temporary barricades, reducing the narrow road to single lane with no visibility for automobiles or pedestrians is unacceptable and below standards.
Further neglect of resolving this existing situation, there will be increased Hwy 104 traffic onto a failing county road.
This will greatly increase the odds of a fatality occurring exponentially and should be obvious.
