REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
8:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2021 Jefferson County Courthouse, Commissioners’ Chambers
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at the appointed time. Board Members Gary
Mikelson, David Faber, Greg Brotherton and Secretary Andy Rowlson participated in the
meeting remotely. Member Howard Scott was absent.
Election of Chair: Member Faber nominated himself for Chair for the 2021 term, which was seconded by Member Brotherton. The motion carried.
Approval of Minutes: Member Mikelson moved to approve the meeting minutes of October 13,
2020 as presented. Member Brotherton seconded the motion. The motion carried.
Closed Session: The Board was scheduled to meet in Closed Session from 8:35 a.m. to 8:45
a.m. Chair Faber announced that the Board will be meeting in Closed Session for those
designated times with the LEOFF I Board Secretary to review and discuss medical expenses under exemption RCW 42.30.140(2) as outlined in the Open Public Meetings Act. The Closed Session was conducted and the regular meeting was resumed at 8:51 a.m.
Determination on Payment of Health Care Expenses: Member Brotherton moved to approve
payment of dental care expenses in the amount of $5,474 submitted by LEOFFI Retiree Gary Mikelson, based upon Section 9.9 Dental Benefits of the Rules, Policies and Procedures. Chair
Faber seconded the motion. The motion carried 2-0 with Member Mikelson abstaining.
