Dear Mr. Peters,
Thank you for providing information regarding the proposed marina expansion at the
Port Ludlow Marina. As we discussed, I am somewhat concerned about the length of
the outer-most two docks (E & F). These docks extend to the west as depicted in the
drawing dated 7/14/00 and submitted by OPG. As you know, we are the last and
furthest waterfront lot situated on Scott Court. Presently we' have limited sight of the
marina, with little to no aesthetic affect on our view of the bay. If the docks are
extended to the length proposed, however, it will have an adverse affect on our view of
the bay area. Because of this, we feel that such an expansion would devalue our
property.
I obtained a preliminary concept drawing of the marina expansion. It was labeled
"Alternate 1" (dated 4/5/00). It showed the two docks liE & F" to be much shorter In
length. If OPG used this layout, impact to the adjacent view lots would be much less.
I also have talked with Jon Rose from OPG and hope to meet with him in the hear
future to learn more of the proposed expansion. I expressed my concerns to him about
the length of the two docks. He indicated that he would try to stop by at a later date to
discuss the matter further.
While building our home on Scott Court, my wife and I lived aboard our boat at the Port
Ludlow Marina. As a result of this experience, we agree with the developer that
improvements to the marina are needed. At this point, however, we do not own a boat
and are simply an adjacent property owner to the marina. Though we still feel that
improvements to the marina are needed, we have a greater concern as to the value of
our waterfront property and how the proposed expansion will impact our view.
