Re: Land Use Application MLA05-00276 on Marrowstone Island
After seeing the public notices placed around Marrowstone Island, I feel I should voice my
strong support for the public water system and encourage the quick approval of all required
permits. According to the newspapers, new opposition is coming from environmental activists in
Pt Townsend. Do not be influenced by people who do not live here, who do not have to put up
with the inconvenience and health issues associated with lack of water, and who care only about
their own agenda.
I live on E Marrowstone Road and my well is unusable due to seawater intrusion. The salt
content is so high, it would be too expensive to treat for household use. Currently my household
water is hauled from Pt Hadlock by my neighbors on a weekly basis. I am 85 years young but
hauling water is not on my list of activities. Please help me and my neighbors on Marrowstone
Island secure safe water as soon as possible.
