Re: Type III Land Use Application MLA05-00276
Attn: S. Hoskins
As long time property owners on Marrowstone Island we believe a water system is in the
best interests of the island. Not only will it supply much needed water to the island but
will provide a much improved level of fire protection. The alternative water systems
proposed by some fail to supply enough water in view of the continuing drought. Year
after year we have failed by a large margin to even produce the average rainfall of 20
inches.
The local newspapers report that local Port Townsend activists are attempting to either
delay or stop water to Marrowstone Island. These people do not live on the island and
certainly do not have to contend with the many problems associated with lack of water
including health concerns.
The majority of the island residents want water and is the reason that the PUD
Commissioners voted to form LUD 14.
Respectfully,
