Re: Typelll Land Use Application MLA05-00276 (Marrowstone
Island LUD#14)
We strongly urge your approval of the subject Land Use
Application for the purpose of bringing public water to
Marrowstone Island. As you may know Marrowstone Island has
limited water and many wells are saline contaminated and, worse,
some have gone dry. Many residents haul water from Hadlock.
Marrowstone, being designated a sole source aquifer, does not
benefit from the Olympic Mountain watershed waters and public
water has been recommended as the preferred solution from a
number of government agencies. This is a public health and public
welfare issue.
We would like to be informed of any actions, hearings, etc. that
would have bearing on this issue.
