RE: Type 5s on Marrowstone Island
David,
I'll try to get to it next week.

Ross,
The proponent states in their wetland delineation, "the County stream map shows one Type 5
Water in the project area, directly north of the entrance to Mystery Bay State
Park....During the field investigation for this study, there was no evidence of water or
an intact channel in the vicinity of this mapped drainage feature." Can you confirm this?
The parcel number is 021 294 012; DNR land. This is the only stream I'm concerned about.
The water lines will be installed parallel and close to the road (SRl16). Attached is the
map.
Thanks!

Hi David,
We have the same maps as you do, and yes, there are several streams shown on the Island.
I am aware of a few larger wetlands and would be surprised if there are no stream channels
at all. Unfortunately I don't have the time to verify all the streams for a project this
large.
In this case I would put the burden on the proponent. We have a formal water type
modification process to get streams removed from the hydrology layer. If the proposed
project hinges on getting all Island streams verified and/or removed please refer him/her
to our Forest Practices website or they can call me directly to get information on the
process.
If this doesn't make sense to you or you would like more information feel free to give me
a call at (360) 732-7175.

I'm the lucky guy who gets to review the Marrowstone Water project. I was hoping you
could verify the existence of any Type 5 (or greater) streams on the Island. Our mapping
shows a few, but Jim Parker who is PUD #1 Manager, told us that parametrix did a wetland
reconnaissance and found no Type 5s. Can you verify this for me?
