I favor Land Use Application MLAOS-00276 for a much needed public
water system on Marrowstone Island; Lets get it donel
It is difficult to fathom why ,obstructional environmental activist from
Port Townsend and a few hard core anti water people on Marrowstone
(who lost their suit-On all counts) are trying every means they can think
of to Keep PUD water from coming to the Island.
We are in our 80's and must have water hauled for our daily use. When
we moved here thirty years ago,our well was fine. now it has sea water
intrusion and is unusable We have rain barrels and a small catchment
system for all outside use.
We shower every third day and flush only when nesscary\. It is difficult
to have guests and family and Impose these restrictions on them.AII
extra laundryis done at the laundromat.
Off Island people can camp at Fort Flagler State Park and use all of
the PUD water they want, but Port Townsend activist don't want Island
residents to have PUD water. Logic??
More and more Island wells have gone dry and seawater intrurusion is
prevalent.Fire danger on the Island is serious.
Sub-culture living is rediclculous and a hardship. The Island needs PUD
water. LETS GET IT DONE.
