Johnson Marrowstone Water Project David, At your request I looked at Jefferson County Parcel 021294012 to verify the existence and classification of a stream. I visited the site on November 11, 2005. I found that there was a defined channel on the parcel, but it was not located as shown on the map. The channel should be shifted to the west so that the outlet is located on the western third of the parcel. This channel was dry at the time of my visit and it appears clear that it most likely only flows during heavy rain events with at least some of the flow coming from the Hwy 116 ditch. The channel does cross under the Hwy 116, but I did not follow it to see how far it continues north. This stream should be considered a Type 5 water on this parcel. The primary issue concerning this channel would be to maintain water quality. Incidently the Assessor lists this parcel as being owned by the Department of Natural Resources. It actually belongs to Washington State Parks. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding this e-mail.
