I am writing this letter to voice my support for the septic project, to sevice the needs of our community. We are all well aware of the environmental impact that existing septic systems have on ground water pollution. Not just at Beckett pt but in many other communities in Washington state have these issues. I am proud that our cOIl1f01.J.6p,~~r~~i\.1 1 DC)-. "'.",.~'=~I'"~-~~'^... '" . ~< tacking this problem head-on, attempting to do the right thing and build this very expensive system. At an estimated cost of $23,000-$27,000 per lease owner this is by no means a small committment from our members, some of which are retiree's on fixed incomes. It would be very easy for many of the existing home owners on septic systems to simply sit back and wait. Instead the association has adopted a very Proactive stance, to work with the County to fix this problem and find a long term solution. You have to admit, it is refreshing to find a community that wants to cooperate rather than resist land use issues. I hope that you will please consider support for this project. It really is a "Win-Win" situation for the residents of Beckett Pt, Discovery Bay as well as the County. Future housing development on vacant property as well as property value enhancement will benefit both property owners as well as Jefferson County. As people continue to develope property around Discovery Bay I'm sure these issues will surface again in the future. This project will set a good precident od a community working with county officials to develope land use in a responsible manner. Again, Thank you very much for your consideration. > >Best Regards, Cindy and Evan Hall, lot #35 Beckett Point 'S~ '~~~:""~~~~~N'" 2
