Relative to the status of the county roads now "i thin
the b:)undariee of the Queets Corridor and Coastal atrlp. the
Board of County Commissioners feel that the interest in 881d
roads should be'vested in the Department of the Interior.
In l1eu of the loss of val.uatlon to the County 'b7 the establlsh-
went of the ~ueets Corridor Bnd Coastal Strip, the problem of
maintaining these rea" has become acute and inasmuoh as sald
roads are En integral part of the Queet. Corridor and G.osstal
Strip, we feel we are justified in our action
kn enclosing a Resolution adopted b7 the Board of Couat,.
Commissioners assigning the Counties tnterest in the named
roads to Jour Department. In order to t~Ye an understanding
as to the status ot the roads,w. plan to discontinue maintenance
on these roads wlthin alxtJ days.
