RESOLUTION NO "B1I44. signed WHEREAS, the period. of cold weather caused abnorman damaee to the rOads of Jefferson County, and WHEREAS, it is deemed necess(1,ry to manufacture suitable plant mix material for repa&r of said roads, WHEREAS, the estimated sost of said project is ;i:;1200.00, BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the sum of ~;l200.00 be set Hside from the County Road fund for the purpose aforesaid. Gross st!.1ted that he thought it would be unwise to sell the Same at this time and it w~s therefore so ordered that the purchnser be refundem the deposit he had made. 'l'he .1and in question WaS the SEt of Sec.28, Twp 27 N, R 2 1'1. on the Big Qui1cene RiverClt Mr. Doug1(l.s of the J!:i1we.l.1.1~ee land Company appeared before tl:e Board and requested that the Taxes which his company had paid on Park Take land in the West End of tIle County, be returned in the amount of $1048.42 therefore the following resolution was signed: RESOLUTION WHEREAS the ),ii1waukee Land Company did to the Treasurer of Jefferson County, Wash., due, and Vfr~H}~AS the tracts upon which the said t~xes were purported to be levied were by a "Declaration of Take" entered in the Federal District Court at Seattle, Wash. July 1, 1940, made the property of the United States of America, and VrrmREAS s~~d Passing of title occur~d prior to the levy of 1940 taxes by Jefferson County,. W~shington, and WHEREAS this Board hns been advised by the Prosecuting Attorney of Jefferson County that inasmuch as siad title had Passed prior to the date of tIle levy of said taxes, Jeffel'son County could not possible collect taxes and that any receipt of same bJ any offj.cer of sa+d county would be unlawful and beyond his powers and give rise to a good claim against said count;r in be~,ald of said Company, IT IS HEREB:- RESOLVED Arm ORDEfffiD that the Auditor of Jefferson County, Wash., shall draW a warrant in favor of said IUlvi~ukee Land Company in the amourt of $1048.42 and that the Treasurer of Jefferson Count:)' shall duly pay s2me upon submission to him. The question of insurrance on the seven pa;;senger cars ormed by the County was discussed and various figures were quoted, but no decision WaS arrived at. The following Bills against the County were signed: Current Expense $6686.83 County Road 7714.92 Assistance Account 1740.25 The Board adjourned to meet again on ThursdaY, march 5th. ThursdaY, March 5th at 10 A.M. The Board reconvened on the above named date and hour witL all members pre~Jent. Resolution no "E 46 A. Was signed: RESOLUTION HO'B" 46 A. WHEREAS W.J. Buhler and J.J. Lafferty, both of Pt. Townsend, Wash., heve paid taxes in the amonnt of Forty-five (\;;45.00) on the f ;.llowing described property: Lots 1,3, and 5, Block 44, Original 'l'ov;nsite, ~s per Pll)t in Volume 1,. of Plats, Page one, records of JefJ"erso:1 Co., Wash. and .,-' WHEREAS it WaS agreed at the ti:,ne of tho conveyance of said property to this county that said tpxes would be assumed b;{ the county, and WHJi:REAS said VI.
