Dear Mr. Scalf:
In response to Port Ludlow Associates' project application for development of Ludlow Bay Village, the marina
expansion, and other changes, I would like to offer the following comments about the project:
1) The helipad should be located away from residences as much as possible, and have as little effect as
possible on existing large fir trees.
2) No over-water building should be allowed.
3) Condominiums are not the same thing as town-homes and single family residences. Ifthese are to be
allowed, then the community of North Bay should make that decision. The density of population
without consideration for adequate parking, sidewalks, etc. would negatively affect the community.
4) In general I am concerned that PLA is a short-term owner, making decisions based on taking out as
much money as possible, and then leaving the area with problems that wouldn't occur if the 1993
original plans were followed. Moving the restaurant isn't a problem, but making it smaller while
increasing population may be. Building additional townhomes as originally planned is fine, but
changing the character of the community with a third recreation facility and adding condos is not.
5) Port Ludlow is a special community, a great asset to Jefferson County, and a truly caring, involved
village. The concerns of the citizens of Port Ludlow should be concerns of the Dept of Community
Development. Please keep the wishes of the "Community" in the process of Development.
Sincerely,
Kathy Muir
