Subject: Port Ludlow MPR Revisions
To: Al Scalf, Jefferson County DCD Mgr.
I own a year-round residence at 21 Muir Court in Port Ludlow.
I am writing to request that the County reject the latest proposed revisions to our MPR submitted
by PLA affecting the Ludlow Bay Village & Admiralty III areas, & instead reaffIrm the plan
submitted by the developer to the County in 1993 for these areas.
The proposal for condos rather than townhouses will result in an unacceptable residential density
increase with the attendant problems of traffIc, parking, noise, emergency & service access, etc.
The previously approved beachfront wall-to-wall townhouses have already diminished the view out
over Admiralty Inlet from the marina & hotel area; the proposed unreasonable increase in density
can only further the loss of "open feeling" previously enjoyed in this area by our community.
The Admiralty III proposal will, of course, eliminate the present park-like area just off Paradise
Bay Road, & necessitate the removal of many old-growth trees. The proposed "heliport" is much
too close to a major thoroughfare & will cause traffIc disruption when in use.
Finally, the developer's plan to require new homeowners in this project to belong to the proposed
new recreation center/club can only promote more unwelcome divisiveness in a community
already somewhat divided North/South by required membership in the two existing
club/recreation centers.
Sincerely,
Hank West
