Subject: Port Ludlow Associates (PLA) Resort Plan
Dear Mr. Scalf
We would like to present our observations and interests in the implementation of the
PLA's Resort Plan. It is in our community interest to have this development take place
and keep the community on a continued growth path for reaching its build-out potential
of 2250 residential units in some meaningful time period.
The Port Ludlow Village Council has completed a good analysis of the compatibility of
the proposal with the current homes and businesses in the Village. We believe that the
Development Review Division should address two issues in PL VC review of the plan.
They are the parking/driveway issue, particularly in the area of the multi-unit dwellings,
and the safety issue in regard to access to the proposed commercial establishments.
Overall the development would serve to continue the healthy growth of our village.
Community wide the resort development (redevelopment) would provide added
economic justification for expanding retail and professional options that would serve all
Port Ludlow residents. It would also provide a larger base for community amenities,
such as trails and tennis. The development would also provide economic support for both
the golf course and the proposed expanded marina. Basically it provides a clear path for
the completion of the original plans for a village in the woods by the bay.
In summary, for the reasons listed above, we favor the timely completion of a revised
PLA resort plan.
