We purchased our Port Ludlow home in 2002. An important factor in our decision to live here was the character of the community itself and the open, accessible, and natural feel of the area between Oak Bay Road and the water. Weare very disturbed about certain aspects of the current proposal as follows: Increasing residential density from 32 remaining units of those previously platted and agreed to, to 62 units results in an increase of 94%. Moreover, these remaining units no longer represent townhouses and single family residences, but large stacked flat condominiums. Considering the increase in vehicular traffic, parking and general noise and congestion that would result in such a confined area, we are certain that the current proposal submitted by PLA is not in the best interests of our community. We currently have a lovely, natural lagoon which is not only available as a quiet place for wildlife in the area but also as a visual asset for both residents and visitors of Port Ludlow. Weare having difficulty in understanding the basis for the proposed increase in residential density and destruction of a large natural water refuge except for purely economic benefits for PLA. There is no benefit to our community and in fact, if this proposal were to be realized, the detrimental impact would be substantial and irrevocable. '---'-' I ~ 'V7 \ I!
