Subj: in regard to the proposed changes for Admiralty III at
Port Ludlow

My wife and I have owned our Admiralty II Condo in Port Ludlow for over 20
years, making it our permanent home 3 years ago. Previously it was a rental
unit. The rental program has steadily declined over the years, resulting in
use changes in the majority of both Admiralty I and II units. Now, other than
facilities at the Inn, there is no on site rental business.
Should PLA be given any special zoning or building concessions under the
umbrella of "Resort"? I would suggest the matter be looked into.
My real reason, however, in this letter is to state our concerri>ver the
removal of the existing playground for construction of the proposed
Admiralty III units. This location has for years consisted of a horseshoe pit,
a volley ball court, a basketball area and a fully equipped children's
playground. The location further is adjacent to a rather steep slope of
unstable soil where water run-off is already a problem.
Would it be possible for the county to consider some way, with the aid of the
Port Ludlow property owners, that this location could be purchased from
PLA and dedicated as a public park? This would be the best use of this
ground, a win-win solution and a feather in everyone's cap. PLA has other
sites better suited for building housing, sites where adequate parking would
be available.
Thank you for your consideration of this matter,
Bud and Marcet Benedict
