Mr. AI Scalf
Manager, Jefferson County Dept. of Community Development
Port Townsend, W A
Dear Mr. Scalf,
My wife and I have been permanent residents in Port Ludlow since 1993 and have participated in a number
dialogs regarding the future development of our community over the years. I have just read the latest
commentary prepared by the Port Ludlow Village Council, which I presume has been shared with you, that
addresses several major concerns relative to the PLA petition before you. Rather then reiterate, in
different words, the concerns and comments expressed in this document, let me say that we as long time
community members believe them to be legitimate and demanding of your complete consideration.
What actually baffles my mind about this entire issue is the fact that just a very few years ago, a
significant effort of time and money was made to achieve government and community agreement on a Final
Plan for the development of Port Ludlow as a Master Resort. Why in the world is this matter still being
considered much less discussed by the Department of Community Development now? The principle
-Develop a Plan - Work the Plan" has served the management of a host of enterprises very well over many
years. Let's simply hold the course to what has been agreed to and get on with efforts to resolve yet to be
addressed projects in our county
Respectfully,
