AI, thanks. I defintiely think it would be constructive to do a similar review with the community
before the staff recommendations are released. It is obvious this project and hearing will generate
a lot of interest and emotion and I think it would be helpful to the community and benefit DCD to
do as much up front education as you can. I believe this will improve the quality of the public
testimony, allow the county to better brief Irv in the staff recommendations and reduce the
frustration in the community with Irv's final decision. Plus, as a matter of fairness I firmly believe
the public deserves they same access and input that PLA has. This, of course, was at the heart of
my frustration with Faith on Ludlow Cove II. I felt and continue to feel it was not a level playing
field. So I believe a public session prior to the hearing would be a big plus to the process. A real
win win situation.

DCD met with PLA Nov 23 from 10 am to 12:30. We reviewed:
Overview of issues raised during public comment period
Consolidation of applications and decisions
Plat alteration and boundary line adjustment
Shoreline substantial development permit
Staff report status
Hearing date
Index of administrative record
Applicant response to public comments
I didn't take any notes.
The reason for the meeting was PLA wanted to go over the stuff that DCD and
PLA is/are concerned about, why we cancelled the December 6 hearing and reviewd the
issues associated with the resort proposal, The conclusion was to proceed to
hearing with the applications that are in and see what happens.

AI, thanks for sharing Marco's email. I'm assuming the meeting he requested took place and since
it involved the pending hearing their are minutes or notes of that meeting that are now part of the
log items for this hearing. Please confirm and advise the log number so I can review next time I'm
up. If not can you then give me a brief overview of the reason for the meeting, what was discussed
and what if anydecisions came out of it.
