HomeMy WebLinkAbout01 72 - 1 ORDINANCE NO. -,--, 1972 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO Trill ADOPTION OF A UNIFORM TRAFFIC CODE FOR JEFFERSON COUNTY WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners of Jefferson County, under provisions of RoC.Wo 360320120(7), have authority to make and enforce, by appropriate resolutions or ordinances, police regulations as are not in conflict with state law, and within the unincorporated area of the county may adopt by reference Washington state statutes and recognized codes or portions thereof, together with amendments thereto, or additions thereto; and \'ffiEREAS, it is desirable that all fines and forfeitures for traffic violations collected by the Jefferson County District Court be deposited in the Jefferson County Current Expense Fund; and WHiliEAS, this can be accomplished by the adoption of a Uniform Traffic Code for Jefferson County; NO~, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED AND ORDAINED by the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners that the Revised Code of Washington, Title 46, Chapters 46004, 46008, 46.09, 46.10, 46020, 46037, 46.61, 46064, 46098, as now constituted and as hereafter amended, is hereby adopted as a Uniform Traffic Code for Jefferson County, and that violation of any Section under the Code shall constitute a misdemeanor punishable by fine not to exceed $500.00, or imprisonment not to exceed 6 months in the Jefferson Coun ty Jail; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVUJ AND ORDAIIfED, that all fines and for- feitures collected for violation of any of the provisions of this title (ordinance) Shall be deposited in the Current Expense Fund of Jefferson County, after a pro-rated share of the expense of the administration of the District Court has been deducted. - 1 - ..,..~...",,~_._-- -, "~,'r;~':,:,:',?~""'~ ,\~:,-,_. ~""!'7:.-'r:~~-:::-:'~.
