SOOJEer: Stream typing of Discovery Ridge LLC property, parcel # 001301001-
Discovery Ridge l,}ivision 4.
At the request of the landowners consulting engineer I visited the above referenced
property to verify stream typing.
I walked south along the eastern edge of the property. I crossed several small draws
including four that were shown as Type 5 on the county hydro layer map and two that
were shown as Type 9.
IA all cas~s I (ound no evidence of channel indicators. This would include areas of scour
or exposed' sand and gravel. Instead, in the areas I checked, I found the draws had soil,
duff and leaf litter deposition. This indicates that these draws receive relatively minor
amounts of surface runoff. Any runoff that does occur appears to be low energy. In
addition these draws appear to have no connectivity with Type 1, 2, 3 or 4 waters down
stream.
Therefore under WAC 222-16-031 (5) the draws within this parcel would not be
considered typed waters. If you have any questions regarding my site visit or conclusions
