Dear Mr. Buehrer:
It was a pleasure to meet with yo.u at Discovery Bay Golf Course on February 21,2006. The
primary purpose of the visit was to evaluate the suitability of the soils for sewage treatment
upgrade at the proposed location. We observed fourteen (14) test pits at the site.
The test pits evaluated ,.~ to vary across the site but typically ~ to consist of varying
depths of sandy loam and loamy medium sand overlaying clay loam. Based on these observations
and.the soil logs emailed to our office on February 23, 2006, we generally characterize the soils in
area "A" (as shown in sheet 3 of 4) as loamy medium sand. The soil.isclassified as ''Type 3" in
Washington State. The maximum allowable loading rate is 0.8 gallons per day per square foot.
I
We recommend avoiding the areas where test pits indicate shallow depths of loamy medium sand.
Based on your design ptopOSalin the preliminary design report dated February 2006, the site
appears to be suitable for the proposed LOSS.
The design must be submitted to this office for review and approval prior to construction. After
construction is complete, but before thedrainfield is covered., a representative from this office
must inspect the installation and conduct a pressure test. If you have any questions, please feel
fteetoeall.
Sincerely,
~O-~ $-y", .
