There’s a lot on the agenda but it will be nice to close out some items that we’ve been spending time talking/thinking about this year. I’ve made some staffing changes at Jefferson Transit and I wanted to brief you on these changes before tomorrow’s meeting. Miranda Nash has accepted the position of Finance Manager. She’s done an exemplary job in the interim role and she is excited and motivated to improve upon the work that she’s done in 2022. Sara Peck (SJ) has accepted the position of Mobility Operations Manager. Sara has a master’s degree in Education. In previous roles she’s worked with individuals with disabilities, led teams in an operation type setting, and has experience managing projects. Throughout this past year Sara has taken on additional responsibilities and been more involved in the operational side of Jefferson Transit. Miranda and I are both excited to support Sara as she makes this transition. Desiree Williams has accepted the position of Fleet and Facilities Manager. Desiree has really taken ownership in this role since she started in October. The maintenance department employees are all positive about her moving into this new role. Desiree is excited about Jefferson Transit’s move to a zero emission fleet and about JTA’s ongoing projects. I have hired Kelly Graves (previously of the City of Port Townsend) as the new Executive Assistant/Clerk of the Board. Kelly brings with her a lot of experience as an executive assistant, public records knowledge, and public meeting preparation. We’re excited to welcome her to the team and to support her in the coming months. I will post the position of Fixed Route Operations Manager on Tuesday, December 27th. We are currently recruiting for the Maintenance Clerk position (the position that Desiree vacated). We are leaving the Operator position open and will evaluate applications/resumes as they come in.
