First, Barbara, thank you so much for a great job at the meeting. As you probably know, more than 100 people attended, and I
personally heard from a number of them how impressed they were with your presentation and responses to questions. We
really appreciate your time and trouble.
I think it is wonderful that you would like to continue the dialogue and to respond to questions raised and generally educate
the community about land use and planning and how it applies to Trendwest.
In my opinion, another forum would be worthwhile. Whether there would be good attendance at the next one, I don't know,
but I think it would show another instance of the county's outreach to the community. And, it could help clear up some
questions and perhaps let you know of others that deserve investigation and response.
A written response to the questions asked at the August 28 forum is a good idea if we don't have another forum, perhaps in
next month's Voice (seems to me the response should be sooner than more than a month after the meeting, though), or on the
website for those who use the web.

Suzanne and Tom,
How would you like me to begin to answer some of the questions that were raised? Does it make sense to have
another meeting to address specific issues: such as MERU formulas, signage code, on-going road
improvements, how many people and cars and potential impacts to traffic and safety.
If you think a presentation would be helpful, I can do a powerpoint that might better explain each individual
issue, the codes and processes around them.
Or would you like an email or letter. I can provide answers in any form that you think might work for you.
Just let me know.

Subject: SEPA document
Tom and Suzanne,
One of the questions form the public at the question and answer session was "what are the 36 conditions per the
State Environmental Policy Act and Jefferson County that were set in 2005 and were to be conditions of the
shoreline permit?
The attached SEPA document lists those 36 conditions as Recommended Conditions beginning on page 20.
Hope that helps.
