STATE OF WASHINGTON County of Jefferson In the Matter of Establishing New } Salaries for the Elected Offices of } Jefferson County } RESOLUTION NO 35-06 WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners last updated the salary matrix used for the elected positions of Jefferson County by passage of Resolution No. 01..06 which provided a 4% cost ofliving adjustment to the matrix for 2006; and, WHEREAS, a review of the salaries paid to these same elected positions in the Counties used for comparison purposes during Union negotiations was then completed; and, WHEREAS, after review by the County Administrator and the Board of Commissioners it has been determined that an adjustment is necessary for some of these positions while no further adjustment is indicated for others in order that these positions be treated with the same consistency and parity as other employees, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners that the annual salaries of the Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, Commissioner representing District #3, Treasurer, Sheriff, and Prosecuting Attorney of the County shall be set as follows: Elected Official Monthly Annual Assessor $4,947.29 $59,367.48 Auditor $4,947.29 $59,367.48 Clerk $4,931.00 $59,172.00 Commissioners $5,016.29 $60,195.48 Prosecuting Attorney $7,729.14 $92.749.68 Sheri ff $5,912.57 $70,950.84 Treasurer $4,947.43 $59,369,16 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution repeals and replaces Resolution No, 01..06 and all prior salary matrices for the Elected Official positions listed above; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOL VED, that the salaries for the current County Commissioners shall continue to be regulated by the salary matrix adopted by Resolution No, 04..03 until their current term of office expires; and, " . Resolution No. 35-0Establishing )lew Salaries for the Elected Office of Jefferson County BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the salaries listed above shall become effective January 1, 2007 and are the maximum amount approved for the identified Elected Official for the entire length of their term of office; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED. that there will not be a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for any elected position that is currently paid above the amount listed above, and that those Elected Officials in office at the time of adoption of this resolution that are above the amounts listed above shall be paid at the salary as provided in "Attachment A" to this resolution; and, BE IT FIN ALL Y RESOL VED, that the Board of County Commissioners reserve the right to make adjustments to these salaries (except for those of Commissioner) during the budget year as they feel is justified and necessary, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 26th day of June 2006. ATTACHMENT "A" to Resolution No, 35-06 Implementation of the New Salary Schedule For Incumbent Elected Officials The Elected Officials who are serving a term of office that expires before January 1, 2007 shall not be caused to suffer a reduction in salary due to the implementation of this new salary schedule, and will continue at their current level, even ifit is higher than the maximum amounts listed for their office as noted in the attached resolution. Any incumbent (in office when this resolution is adopted) in the positions identified below, who are subsequently re.elected to the same office will continue their new term at the salaries listed below.
