Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. ________________________________ County and City Officials from WSF-served Communities, Despite the best efforts of WSF’s terrific Dispatch team and our vessel and terminal employees, icy road conditions have made it impossible for people to get to work. This means we’ll suspend service on two additional routes this evening, Seattle/Bainbridge and Clinton Mukilteo. Here is a summary of service for the rest of the day: * Seattle/Bainbridge – Service will be suspended following the 9.20pm sailing from Seattle. We do not have the crewing to add a Bainbridge stop to the last Bremerton run as we did earlier in the week. * Clinton/Mukilteo – Service will be suspended following the 9.30pm sailing from Clinton to Mukilteo. * Edmonds/Kingston – Service was suspended after the 3.15pm sailing from Edmonds. * Anacortes/San Juan Islands Two-boat service on an alternate schedule.* * Seattle/Bremerton – One-boat service at this time. * Fauntleroy/Southworth/Vashon “Triangle” – Two-boat service at this time. * Pt. Defiance-Tahlequah – One-boat service at this time. * Port Townsend/Coupeville – One-boat service at this time. While not underestimating the impacts of these service suspensions, with the public heeding public safety advisories, and very light traffic, we hope customers are understand the challenges WSF employees have faced trying to keep the system running for a long as possible today. John *An/SJs - Reduced Schedule Due to #3 Samish & #4 Sealth Out of Service For Friday, December 23, the #3 Samish & #4 Sealth are tied up for the rest of the evening which will cancel the remaining vessels' scheduled sailings. In order to accommodate traffic affected by this disruption, remaining vessels will make unscheduled stops throughout the day. Existing reservation-holders will be given priority loading on a first come, first serve basis. New reservations have been blocked for the remainder of the day. All inter-island traffic will be redirected to Anacortes to be rerouted back to their destination island at no charge. Walk-on passengers are highly discouraged from travelling due to the icy conditions at each of the island terminals. It is highly recommended to drive-on during this inclement weather. The additional stops provided are as follows: #1 Chelan * 3:40 p.m. Anacortes to Shaw, Orcas * 5:15 p.m. Orcas to Anacortes (regular schedule) #2 Yakima * 4:30 p.m. Anacortes to Lopez, Friday Harbor * 6:25 p.m. to Lopez and Anacortes (regular schedule) #1 Chelan * 6:30 p.m. Anacortes to Shaw, Orcas * 7:50 p.m. Orcas to Anacortes (regular schedule) #2 Yakima * 8:25 p.m. Anacortes to Lopez, Friday Harbor * 10:05 p.m. Friday Harbor to Anacortes (regular schedule) #1 Chelan * 8:55 p.m. Anacortes to Shaw, Orcas * 10:05 p.m. Orcas to Anacortes (regular schedule) #4 Sealth * 11:30 p.m. Anacortes to Lopez, Orcas and Friday Harbor (last sailing of the evening) County and City Officials from WSF-served Communities, Good afternoon. Unfortunately, weather conditions continue to affect WSF employees’ ability to get to work. With all routes already on the reduced service I notified you of this morning, there are further impacts this afternoon due to a lack of Coast Guard-required crewing: * The Puyallup, the only boat operating on the Edmonds/Kingston route, will go out of service after its 3.15pm sailing from Edmonds. This will suspend service on the route until tomorrow. * The Sealth, currently operating on the San Juan Islands’ Interisland route, went out of service with its 2pm arrival at Friday Harbor. * The Samish, serving the Anacortes/San Juan Islands routes, has also gone out of service this afternoon. For the San Juan Islands, an alternate service plan has been announced, so passengers should check the WSF website or social media for updates. We are also sending passenger alerts to those who have registered for them. John From: Vezina, John Sent: Friday, December 23, 2022 9:06 AM Subject: FW: WSF Friday Service County and City Officials from WSF-served Communities, Good morning. With hazardous road conditions, WSF vessel crews and terminal staffs have had difficulty getting to work, affecting service on several routes. We’ve implemented a severe weather schedule, reducing service on most routes, combining crews to keep vessels in service. This allows us to remain a link for emergency services and essential workers. The affected routes and beginnings of service restoration are: * Service on the Seattle/Bremerton route suspended until the 10am sailing from Seattle. * Service on the Port Townsend/Coupeville route was suspended until the 8am sailing from Port Townsend. * One-boat service on Seattle/Bainbridge, Clinton/Mukilteo, and Edmonds/Kingston. * Initial one-boat service on the Fauntleroy/Southworth/Vashon route, with two-boat service restored at 7.55am. * Service on the Anacortes/San Juan Islands routes and Pt. Defiance/Tahlequah operated normally. We understand the importance of our service, especially as customers travel for the holiday weekend. With safety – of passengers and employees – always our number one priority, this schedule allows those who must travel to do so. We’re appreciative for the efforts colleagues have made to provide service this morning and appreciate passengers’ patience with current sailing schedules. Best, John John B.
