A recovery community based on the belief that everyone deserves love and belonging and where we foster a beautiful, safe, warm, drug-and-alcohol-free space for everyone
Happy New Year from Recovery Café!
A note from our wonderful Kitchen Manager, Karen:
It’s that funny, raggedy time at the end of the year when we are post Solstice and Christmas and Hanukkah and so much more, but not quite to the New Year. We are lots of us pulled in
all sorts of directions, for all sorts of reasons. Plus, the weather has been all over the place here in Port Townsend, with snow, below freezing temperatures, wild winds, and now practically
balmy temperatures and epic King tides.
It is with that context that we invite you to join us at Recovery Café this week and into 2023!
—
In the spirit of reflecting on the year past and setting intentions for the year to come, this week we will be hosting:
Friday 12/30 from 1:30pm-3pm: “Future Me” Letter Writing
Come write yourself a letter to be opened one year from now. You can hand-write it and bring it home with yourself (or we can hang on to it for you), or you can type it up on one of
our laptops available to anyone.
Expanded Meal Service in 2023
Starting January 3rd, we will be serving a free meal on Tuesdays at 12:30pm. (See open hours, meal service times, and other events below)
A huge thanks to our Kitchen Manager and fantastic Members and Volunteers who lovingly create each meal. Thanks, also, to our many partners who support our meal program, especially:
OlyCAP, Quimper Grange Food Bank Garden, and Goosefoot Garden.
Meals this Week
THURSDAY 12/29:
-Sheet Pan Herby, Garlicky Chicken Thighs (GF. DF version available. Vegan stew also available.)
-Sauteed Radishes and Peas in a Pan-sauce of Capers, Miso and Mustard (GF, DF and V.)
-Braised Kale (GF, DF and V.)
FRIDAY 12/30

“Seeking Wellness” Discussion Group
On Fridays from 11:30am ~ 12:30pm, a small group of Members meet at Recovery Café to discuss issues related to healing from trauma, originally inspired by the work of Dr Gabor Mate.
Each week is a different topic brought by one of the Members in the group.
Since this group meets in the conference room at a time Recovery Café is open for meal service, space is limited. You can sign up to be on the ‘waitlist’ with Staff at the front desk
and we will contact you when a space opens! Questions? Ask Brian :)
