Just shy of a year ago, I sat in a small cafe along Water Street with Justine + Kellen preparing to wrap up Kellen's time before his long anticipated European Cycling Travels <https://housingsolutio nsnetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=38123e1ad2608f9c4e51e6660&id=47214c0da3&e=b56e9d81e8> , when Justine spilled the beans and we celebrated her new journey into motherhood. Would I consider leading the Network after May? I had just joined HSN in November (2021) and already was catapulted into a new dimension.. "Yes, and.." seemed the only reasonable answer I could muster over lattes and lengthy conversations about next steps. "Yes, and.." seems like the appropriate way to jump start this trip down memory lane, if memory lane consisted of 365 days of housing advocacy, network goals, lots of laughter, and a sprinkling of tears (hello, have you even met me?). We would be remiss if we also didn't highlight the work of our community along the housing continuum. We graciously applaud the work and efforts of the housing organizations + new partnerships in Jefferson County, including the accomplishments of: - Bayside Housing with their support of Pat's and Peter's Place <https://housingsolutionsnetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=38123e1ad2608f9c4e51e6660&id=2bed528fc0&e=b56e9d81e8> , and the acquisition of the Hadlock Motel! <https://housingsolutionsnetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=38123e1ad2608f9c4e51e6660&id=97e869f1a0&e=b56e9d81e8> - Community Build's work at the Casewell-Brown Village <https://housingsolutionsnetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=38123e1ad2608f9c4e51e6660&id=318f9a4bd4&e=b56e9d81e8> , providing safety and security for many of the unhoused in our community. - OlyCap's finishing touches on the 7th Haven housing development <https://housingsolutionsnetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=38123e1ad2608f9c4e51e6660&id=30e6a84bd7&e=b56e9d81e8> , who's ribbon cutting ceremony is expected in Summer 2023. - OWL 360's Youth support at the Pfeiffer House <https://housingsolutionsnetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=38123e1ad2608f9c4e51e6660&id=9e9764af51&e=b56e9d81e8> and their launch of the youth-led Nest Community Coffee House <https://housingsolutionsnetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=38123e1ad2608f9c4e51e6660&id=020188c005&e=b56e9d81e8> in early 2023. - Olympic Housing Trust's exciting new Jefferson County development at Dundee Hill <https://housingsolutionsnetwork.us17.list-manage.com/track/click?u=38123e1ad2608f9c4e51e6660&id=1eb009097f&e=b56e9d 81e8> , that will connect housing + food security in a beautiful green landscape inside the city limits.
