FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SECURITY TRAINING EXERCISE SCHEDULED AT INDIAN ISLAND
PORT HADLOCK, Wash., - Naval Magazine Indian Island has a security training exercise scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023.
Training activities will occur near the installation’s main gate and near the pier’s security barrier with boats on the water. Exercise scenarios will include the use of blank ammunition,
loud sirens and bright blue flashing lights.
The main gate may be temporarily closed for a short period of time during this exercise, however that should minimally impact traffic in the area.
Announcements will be broadcasted from the base’s loudspeaker notification system during the exercise.
Residents living in the communities surrounding Indian Island and installation personnel could notice increased noise levels and activities associated with training activities.
The Navy conducts these types of security exercises at installations across the world to ensure readiness and verify response procedures. NMII thanks the community for their continued
support and understanding.
