Thanks for your support today! I am forwarding this e-mail as a FYI.. I have been in contact with Derek Kilmer’s team , as well as separate e-mails to Senator Murray and Senator
Cantwell office for grants, matching funds and or supporting this ask from Jefferson County ARPA funds for the PTMTA.
Also if was not for the Marine Trades EIS, the voters would not have voted for the IDD for the port, with the funds they have access to now, they are considering buying the Shorts
Farm.. The Marine Trades Tax base is far reaching, more than many may want to recognize. We need housing, living wages and the association needs the counties support. This small
ask will leverage more than just a office, as we move forward. We free up time, the boat school and the Port win , with stable tenants.
Please keep us informed on your needs and I am happy to provide any information you may need.

I am not sure what funding sources there are for us as PTMTA , but the letter of support to our County Commissioners is the first place to start, your suggestion on matching funds or
opportunities will be of great help.
I have filled out the intake form for the Association and attached the Ask letter to the Commissioners. Below is a link to our 2018 EIS and we feel very positive about this next round,
with the 25K support from the Port of Port Townsend. Could the funding from the Port be considered matching funds?

you to grant opportunities. I’ve also attached some documents about the grants process as well.
As for the Save the Sound, is there any data or similar information you can share with us? I’ve cc’d Dana Rollison on our DC team who covers environmental issues. Dana is a great point
of contact for feedback on environmental issues.
As for energy funding, I’ve attached the guidebook for the IRA, which includes many provisions for energy funding. Both Emma and Dana can help to answer questions on funding sources
that could be applicable for you.

With the New Year upon us and some of the past hurdles behind us, I want to reach out and ask for your support.
First, on behalf of the Port Townsend Marine Trades Association, you will find a letter of request for support to our county commissioners, see attached, through ARPA fund they have
to distribute. Your encouragement to them would be helpful and we would be grateful, as you well know we the marine sector are a major part of the Jefferson County and Olympic Peninsula
economy, Also if you know of any sources for matching funds for our organization, that would help us sustain and grow, we would like to apply and or request support.
Second , Save Our Sound, I would like to share some insights, about what lies in our local waters, I have samples that have been brought up from the depths to share. Lead coated copper
wire and it insulation, that at one point over 12 miles of it was abandon in our bay alone. I applaud these efforts and support a cleanup for all, the last thing we want as Marine
Trades, is that we are frowned upon as a Industry, but we are one that has made efforts to improve upland and on the water activities for all. A opportunity to connect our marine
resources to those that need to know what capabilities are here.
Third, is the need for energy independence and resilience. As we all know the power outages cannot be obverted , due to weather conditions locally, but when the larger grind goes down,
we in industry our unable to produce and keep our facilities up and running. So I am still looking for support, for alternative power generation for our company and others . I believe
this will lead to a stronger Peninsula and our ability to remain strong in the time of need.
I am willing to meet and or talk about any of the above at your conveyance.
I also hope your Christmas Holiday was a great success and we all will enjoy the coming new year.
