Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. ________________________________ Good morning to you both, On behalf of the Behavioral Health Consortium (BHC) members <https://www.behealthyjefferson.com/_files/ugd/2fdcdd_6007d6337df748a597f1ca3f1c33461a.pdf> I would like to thank the City for hosting All Washington Cities (AWC) grant, and the Behavioral Health Advisory Committee for allocating the range of funding in the latest RFP cycle for 1/10th of 1% funds toward our behavioral health system. Please know we appreciate the provision of additional funding for Behavioral Health services in our county. As you know, the BHC voting members are focused on developing a seamless system that sets up clients to navigate smoothly to needed services. There are some questions and concerns about how some of the recent behavioral funding from the City and BHAC will integrate with the existing programs, and if the services being funded are run by appropriately licensed agencies. BHC Members Jim Novelli, CEO, DBH, and Dr. David Carlbom, County EMS Medical Program Director asked me to request a meeting with both of you. The purpose is to discuss the items noted above, and generally to devise how the agencies and providers at the BHC table can be included in the BHAC and City's Behavioral Health-related funding efforts as we all work to fund a collaboratively developed behavioral health system. Please note I have also cc'd Commissioner Greg Brotherton, who is the commissioner appointed to attend the BHC meetings, and Apple Martine, Director of JCPH, where the BHC's HRSA grant funding is hosted, to keep them both in the loop on this request. Both are aware of the relevant concerns some BHC members have expressed. Dr. Carlbom and Jim Novelli are offering two dates for an in-person meeting: Thursday morning, 1/19, or Friday, 1/20 between 1:30 and 5pm. Is there a time slot in either of those two dates that work for your schedules? Or, if neither of those days works, I invite you to propose some additional times. Take care, - Lori Fleming Lori Fleming | Jefferson County Behavioral Health Consortium | 206.714.1925 _________________________________________________________________________
