As a volunteer you will assist HCSEG staff and interns to conduct rotary screw trap checks and learn about fish sampling protocols. All training, waders, and boots will be provided! In this lesson we will cover the fry and parr stages of the salmon lifecycle and the habitats important for salmon. Clearing Space with Movement, Art and Journaling Exercises! Get ready for the new year with gentle movement, creative exercises and journaling practices that encourage recycling unused energy in body, home and community. Get ready to cleanse and renew! Please bring items to donate to those in need (i.e. gently used or new winter clothing and blankets). Journals and art supplies will be available to use during class. Herbal teas and elderberry syrup samples made by Michelle Pugh will be provided throughout class for overall well-being! Registration is required - sign up for one class or the whole series! The first session is on February 9th! We'll be planning our gardens and will discuss seasonal garden needs, companion planting, crop rotation, local seed sources, and more. Come learn about nutrition and local agriculture at the library! In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the concepts of healthy food choices and sustainability in decisions we make about what we eat. Kids will get to investigate a worm bin composting system, partake in a fun nutrition game, and listen to a garden-themed storytime.
