RESOLUTION NO. 32-06
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the County Commissioners of Jefferson County to dispose
of surplus property; and
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has indicated a need to dispose of a Railroad
Car via public bid to be closed on August 4, 2006 and .
WHEREAS, the requirement ofRCW 36.34.020 that an intention to declare surplus be
published with a Notice of Public Hearing regarding the disposal of any County property has
been met and the public hearing held on July 10, 2006 at 10:05 a.m,; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioners heard no objection to the declaration of this items as
surplus.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of Jefferson County
that they make a finding and determination as required by RCW 36.34.050 to declare the
particularly described property as surplus and allow the Treasurer to proceed with the disposition
of said surplus items.

ON THE INTENTION OF JEFFERSON COUNTY
TO SELL SURPLUS COUNTY PROPERTY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Jefferson County Commissioners
will hold a public hearing on the 10th day of July at 10:05 a.m. in the County Commissioner's
Chambers, Jefferson County Courthouse, 1820 Jefferson Street, Port Townsend, Washington,
for the purpose of declaring their intention to dispose of surplus County property, partially
described as follows:
Railroad Car The railroad car has steel beam with partial wood deck, without trucks
(axles, wheels, suspension) Length - 85 feet 6 inches Width - 9 feet
Weight - 64,400 pounds (identification plate stamped weight probably with trucks)
The car is located in the Jefferson County Tower Creek Grav~l Pit on Upper Hoh Road
at M.P. 7.5
Minimum Bid $500.00 plus applicable taxes

Your views for or against the sale of this surplus real property are invited by attendance,
representation, or letter.

Railroad Car., partially described as follows:

BIDDER'S DECLARATION AND UNDERSTANDING
This certifies that the undersigned has examined the surplus county-owned property known as a Railroad car. The
Railroad car must be removed by Thursday September 30, 2006. The Railroad car must be removed at the bidders
expense.
BID REQUIREMENTS
Bid must be submitted on this bid proposal form. Bidder is aware that the bid will be awarded to the highest bidder.
The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities in the bids.
BID DEPOSIT AND FINAL PAYMENT
Attached hereto is a certified check, cashier's check or cash in the sum of dollars
($ ), payable to the Treasurer of Jefferson County, Washington, this amount being not
less than ten (10%) of the total amount of bid. The successful bidder shall pay the balance within five (5) calendar
days from notice of award of bid.

4. Post notices in Courthouse and Treasurer's Office (RCW 36.34.030)
5. Hearing Date (at least 10 days after publication) (RCW 36.34.040)

6. Notice of Sale - Treasurer must publish notice once a week for 2
successive weeks. Notice and date of first publication at least 10 days
prior to sale date with list of items for sale with time and date. (RCW
36.34.090)
(July 19th & July 26th, 2006)
7. Within three days after the hearing a determination is made and it
becomes a matter of record. (Nothing can be changed or added once the
Commissioners declare items surplus.) (RCW 36.34.050)
8. Check with Public Works to be sure they have all the titles to various
vehicles listed on sale. Give to the auction company the day of the sale.
Also you will need weight slips on all vehicles made available to the
auction service before the sale.
