We look forward to welcoming you to your first major NACo conference! To help you make the most of your time in our nation’s capital, here are a few tips and tricks to navigating NACo
events:
Attend the First-Time Attendee Orientation
* NACo President Denise Winfrey, Executive Director Matt Chase and Membership Chair Clerk Matt Prochaska will welcome you to the conference and first-timers will have a chance to connect
with NACo Ambassadors in a roundtable discussion.

* If you cannot attend the orientation and have questions about the conference, please stop by the registration desk or find a member of the NACo staff identified by a “NACo Staff” ribbon
on their name badge.
Participate in Policy Steering Committees
* NACo Steering Committees are open to all attendees, regardless of membership on the Committee. Attending committee meetings is a great way to experience which committee could be the

* Please note, the primary table seating is reserved for members of the steering committee. If you’d like to attend a steering committee meeting, feel free to find a seat along the
perimeter of the room.
Conference Dress Code
* The dress code for the conference is business; however, we recommend that you pack comfortable walking shoes and an extra layer for chilly conference rooms.
* For evening social events, the dress code is business casual.
Access the Conference Mobile App
* Download the NACo Conference app before the conference. The app allows you to create your own schedule, access meeting content, view other attendees, send messages and more. More information
on the app will be available prior to the conference.
Lookout for the “What to Know Before You Go” email
* NACo will send out an email within a week of the conference with everything you need to know about the event, including the mobile app.
Ask NACo Staff for Help
* NACo staff can be located at the conference registration desk or around the hotel wearing “NACo Staff” ribbons. Any member of the NACo staff would be delighted to help answer your
questions and navigate the conference.
