Washington State decided to join the Teva, Allergan, CVS, and Walgreens settlements. In combination with the Walmart settlement, the State, cities, and counties in Washington State are projected to receive $434 million if there is the same level of city and county participation as there was in the distributor settlement and all requirements for the incentive payments are met. The attorneys will discuss timelines as well as elements of an updated Allocation Agreement and will be available to answer questions. There will also be a discussion about the State’s decision to file litigation against Albertsons, Kroger, and Rite Aid for their role in the State’s opioid epidemic. WSAC members should consider inviting appropriate county staff, elected prosecutors, or civil deputy prosecutors to participate.
