Applications are due on Monday, March 6th, 2023. Conservation Futures grants can help acquire parks and open spaces for passive recreation such as urban greenspaces, natural areas, forests, community gardens, farms, and trails. Grants can be awarded to cities, the county, park districts, and eligible 501c3 nonprofit nature conservancies and historic preservation associations. Community groups or individuals may partner on projects with local agencies and eligible nonprofits. For 30 years, we have been the steadfast champion for the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP), joining diverse voices for our great outdoors. In addition to the WWRP, we support select legislative efforts to increase recreation and habitat lands and ensure equitable access for all Washingtonians. This project completed an 8-mile non-motorized regional trail <https://wildliferecreation. us9.list-manage.com/track/click?u=0f4ebc0827fada7e62b54ea21&id=0952d42b4c&e=8c3506b728> system extending east/west along the Burnt Bridge Creek Greenway and through many of Vancouver, WA most populated neighborhoods. This hard-surfaced, shared-use trail offers excellent opportunities for walking, biking, jogging, commuting and viewing of the area.
