Preserving public lands is key to functioning ecosystems and mitigating climate change. This year, we are working to secure $25M in the state budget for the Trust Land Transfer (TLT)
program, which - through local groups and volunteer leaders - identifies and nominates state owned lands for transfer to local agencies for management and preservation.
On January 26th, advocates lobbied the legislature in support of SB 5372 / HB 1460 to revitalize the TLT program. It was a great day of connecting with local legislators and sharing
how this bill will improve the program's transparency and flexibility, and have positive impacts on our state forests and the communities that depend on them.

That day was also the first hearing for SB 5372, and the support for this bill was immense with over 600 individuals signed in pro - but the work isn't done yet!
Companion bill HB 1460 has a hearing TODAY, February 9th at 1:30 p.m. We need to keep the momentum with another strong showing of support -- especially now that the opposition knows
what a strong force they're up against!
