Trail Maintenance Coordinator!
The Peninsula Trails Coalition has hoped to fill this position for some time.

Kenton has joined the Peninsula Trails Coalition as its first paid staff for trail maintenance! He has started part-time (20 hours/week).
Some of his responsibilities will be:
1. Plans, oversees, and directly performs maintenance on the entire Olympic Discovery Trail, including the Olympic Adventure Trail.
2. Conducts regular inspections of entire trail and associated facilities
3. Operates hand tools, power tools machinery and light equipment.
4. Coordinates with jurisdictional maintenance efforts.
5. Facilitates communication between volunteer groups and jurisdictions.
6. Leads field work by PTC volunteer maintenance groups.
7. Assumes responsibility for safely organizing and leading work parties of PTC volunteers in maintaining or improving the trail.
8. Plans, organizes, and leads PTC volunteers performing trail maintenance and construction work. Such work will involve work parties on weekends and weekday evenings.
His past experience includes being part of a five man crew that performed site landscape excavation as well as installation of sprinkler systems & underground power grid lines for housing
developments in Sequim.
He spent a number of years with the National Park Service. Most recently with the Olympic National Park trail crews building retaining walls, ditches, clearing new trails and even construction
of a log foot bridge across the Dosewallips River and with NPS - Grand Canyon both as a crew leader and maintenance worker building/maintaining Bright Angel, North Rim, and Roaring
Springs trails.

* Broad Equipment Knowledge utilizing forklifts, Bobcats, backhoes, front end loaders bulldozers, tractors etc.
* Bachelor's Degree in Business & Management - Peninsula College 2020
