Do not open attachments or click on links if you are not expecting them. ________________________________ February 9, 2023 email: BButler@co.jefferson.wa.us Mr. Brent Butler, Director Jefferson County Department of Community Development 621 Sheridan Street Port Townsend, WA 98368 Dear Director Butler, On or about March 1, 2021, Jefferson County entered into a settlement agreement with Joseph D’Amico, Fort Discovery Corporation and Security Services Northwest. One of the terms of the settlement agreement was Fort Discovery’s voluntary compliance to resolve multiple code violations on its Cedar Hills Property including but not limited to, illegal filling and disturbance of wetlands. As we approach the second anniversary of the settlement agreement, the Tarboo Ridge Coalition, the community group who opposed Mr D’Amico’s prior plans for the property, would appreciate a status report on Fort Discovery’s compliance efforts. Referencing the County’s May 2019 documented violations, may we expect a report detailing which violations have been resolved and those that remain to be corrected on or before March 1, 2023? You can mail the report to 1035 Carl Johnson Road, Quilcene, WA 98376 or email same to pnewland@whidbey.net <mailto:pnewland@whidbey.net> . Sincerely yours, Tarboo Ridge Coalition Peter Newland, Chair 425-754-0700 cc: BoCC and County Administrator
